Review of The Shaggy Dog (2006) by Movie K — 08 Aug 2011
Average family movie. A group of mercenaries went to a monastery in Tibet to catch a long life sheepdog. Tim Allen is a Deputy District Attorney, defending Robert Downey Jr company. His daughter Zena Grey don't like him for trying to charge her teacher for trying to burn the lab.
Danny Glover is Tim boss. If he win, Tim will be DA. Philip Baker Hall is Robert boss. They plan to use the dog DNA to prolong human life. The dog is 300 years old. Zena is at the riot and try to sneak into the building.
The dog escape and save by her. She bring her home and Tim who hates dog, try to pull him away and was bitten. Soon he is displaying dog traits. When Tim is at the pound, he turn into the sheepdog and runs off.
The lab duo collect back the dog. Tim went back as dog and the kids thought the dog come back. When he heard Zena is getting a tattoo to support the cause, he chase away her friend. He sleep in the garage and turn into human.
He explain to Kristin Davis and obviously got snub. Spencer Breslin math teacher hold a session with the parents. Tim saw a cat outside and give chase. He turn into the dog and is caught to pound. The family get it back.
Spencer fail math because he want to be out of the football team. He join football because Tim likes it. He actually like to be in musical singing. It is the anniversary dinner but Tim can't go as human.
As the dog he had roses in his mouth. Kristin is sad Tim can't be contact. Danny pulls Tim out of the case. Tim turns to dog to enter the lab duct system. He saw Robert injecting Philip to become paralyze.
The baddies view the cctv and see Tim transform to dog. Zena thought the parents are splitting. Tim use scrabble to tell the kids I Am Dad. The lab duo catch him and bring back. He bit Robert. The dog teach Tim to meditate in order to transform back to human.
He free the animals and is shock by the lab duo. The chimp return to save Tim. Zena and Spencer went to the lab and saw the escaped dog, thinking it is Tim. They show him to Kristin saying it is dad. Tim call her on the phone and to meet at the court and bring clothes.
Danny let Tim continue the case and he question Robert again. He throw a baton and ask him to fetch. The fluffy tail pops out of Robert's butt and he is held. The family are happy united. Tim let Spencer do what he likes.
The family go for a vacation.
