Review of The Shack (2017) by Myron S — 07 Mar 2017
I really liked the book, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed the movie. Although the movie is not a thought provoking as the book (you can only do so much in a couple of hours of screen time), I felt like the movie accurately captured most of what I had imagined in my mind.
The special effects were tame and didn't overpower the message of the movie. My wife and I both thought that this movie was far better than we expected, as we are usually disappointed in seeing a movie after reading the book.
The Shack was an exception to that. I've talked to friends that thought it was good too. It didn't feel preachy, and I think the other reviews here are generally unfair. Like the book, this will definitely tick off many traditional church-attenders, because it breaks so many stereotypes.
Definitely an entertaining and inspirational fictional story.
