Review of The Shack (2017) by Sean B — 11 Mar 2017

So what does it tell you when the 'Top Critics' rate "The Shack" at 18% (about the lowest score I've ever seen) YET THE AUDIENCE rates it 86%??? There is a massive divide between the people who claim to know what's best and the rest of us.

I don't claim to be some deep thinking movie fanatic who can dissect all the undertones and sub-texts in films and the artful meanings behind them but I know when one is worth watching and when one is garbage.

Although most of the 'audience critiques' are overwhelming positive, it's still peppered with what I can mostly describe as hatred. AND it's obvious that many of the negative comments were posted by people who haven't even seen the movie-hating it just for existing.

I'm not claiming it's a perfect movie or that it should be free of critique, but what about this film warrants such venom?
