Review of The Shack (2017) by Robert W — 03 Jun 2017
If you've never struggled feeling alone, or bitter because of the trials of life, loss, or questioning if God is real, the you won't like this movie. It speaks to the heart of human relationships with the divine.
Any element of "fantasy" is an attempt to depict heavenly things in a way mortals can comprehend. Like making a Calculus course for Kindergarten students. The emotions resonate with the human condition.
It applies to a broad background of religious backgrounds, requiring some symbolic understanding of the intent. Not a perfect movie, but the best portrayal of God's hand in our lives that has ever come from the entertainment industry.
Don't watch if you have no interest in a personal connection with your creator.
