Review of The Seventh Sign (1988) by Jean-Francois V — 02 Jun 2008
Before my conversion, I thought this was a Christian movie, and I would have rated it five stars because of the emotional impact it had on me (when it was over, I cried for about a quarter of an hour the first time I saw it, the same as with the second time I saw "The Age of Innocence".).
Now that I have some knowledge of Church doctrine, I would describe it as a Jewish gnostic movie, which is not exactly the same thing, and I am not altogether comfortable with its theology.
It remains however a very impressive apocalypse story.
