Review of The Seven Year Itch (1955) by Catie P — 09 Aug 2007
Tom Ewell is brilliant in this brilliant Billy Wilder romp. His monologues make the film, as opposed to popular belief that Marylin is the star of this one. She is great, and it includes her most famous pose, but she doesn't have as much screen time as in other films such as "Some Like It Hot".
I have to admit the topic made me a bit uncomfortable to begin with, but the moral of the story is strong and the film cuts out the truly offensive aspects of the original play.
