Review of The Sessions (2012) by Tom H — 08 Jun 2013
I suppose it was only a matter of time until somebody broached this taboo topic. I'm grateful it was somebody like Ben Lewin. He treated the subject with certainty, without religious moralizing, and a touch of humor, probably very much in sync with Mark O'Brien's personality.
Well acted all around, especially John Hawkes. Special kudos goes to William H. Macy for portraying the Catholic priest in all his complexity. Bottom line: if you're not too uptight about sex, this is a nice flick.
If you are, all the more reason to watch it.
