A beautiful, funny and touching film about poet Mark O'Brien, a man suffering from polio and his quest to lose his virginity. Helen Hunt plays the sex surrogate but John Hawkes is the star and the film is about more than sex.
It's about love and wanting to be loved. The honesty of the main character and the humour which comes from it is just a reminder that we should strive to look past the disability and see that each person has the same desires and needs.
William H Macy is also excellent as Mark's priest friend. An excellent, excellent film. :).
