Review of The September Issue (2009) by Sharon W — 13 Sep 2009
Considering that I have never purchased a copy of Vogue (though I have looked through it periodically of course), some might think this is an odd choice for my weekend movie. I truly enjoyed the glimpse into an exclusive world/work environment.
Of course, we are presented with a selective view of this subject (Wintour was not about to be the devil wearing Prada after all). Yet I think that much was revealed and interestingly so. For example, the dynamic between Wintour and Grace Coddington (Vogue's longtime creative director) is fascinating.
I usually like documentaries about "strong" women in business and this delivered the goods, imho. Recommended.
