Review of The September Issue (2009) by Todd K — 20 Sep 2009
I found "The September Issue" to be a fascinating look into a world most of us dismiss as folly. The greatest insight into Wintour's world in the film comes from the juxtaposition of Wintour and Vogue's Creative Director Grace Coddington, who have worked together for decades and are each brilliant at what they do.
Anna Wintour may always be the ice queen, but in some way, her kingdom touches us all. Of particular note is Wintour's hype of designer Thakoon, who in 2007, when this film was shot, was a relative unknown.
Today his designs are everywhere, including on current first lady Michelle Obama.
