Review of The September Issue (2009) by Roy S — 25 Sep 2009
I have virtually no interest in fashion, but when my wife wanted to see this I thought that at least a behind-the-scenes look at the production of a major magazine might be interesting. Well there wasn't very much of that: it was pretty much all about fashion and the incredible influence Anna Wintour has over the industry with a sub-plot around the creative conflict between her and Grace Coddington (it's not a spoiler to say Wintour wins).
Nevertheless, it was an interesting and often very funny insight into the world if high fashion. It made Ugly Betty seem plausible and less over-the-top and at times was giving Ab Fab a run for its money.
