Review of The September Issue (2009) by Nora S — 25 Mar 2010
A well done documentary, but surprisingly boring overall, although I am very interested in the subject matter. Inherently, both fashion shoots and the magazine editing process are repetitive. Thus, a composition of multiple shoots and multiple editing sessions translated dully on film.
The shining moments, however, were glimpses of the character's (Anna Wintour, Andre Talley and Grace Coddington) lives outside of Vogue's offices and the fashion shoots. Sadly, the bulk of these scenes were deleted from the film and are only in the DVD's special features.
