Review of The September Issue (2009) by Giuliana L — 05 Jul 2010
Really enjoyed watching this documentary. It's a really good portrait of an accomplished, successful woman who is creative and uncompromising, and who happens to work in fashion. While she may not be known for her warmth, there are still some really nice moments, for example, the way she smiles when she sees Sienna Miller in an impossibly architectural white dress.
The film also documents an interesting, somewhat volatile relationship between Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington, who is a gifted senior fashion editor at Vogue. Grace used to be a model; the pictures of her at that time are amazing.
Grace's creativity and talent are on display in the film as well.
