Review of The September Issue (2009) by Clayton W — 25 Sep 2009
The September Issue is a fabulous documentary, but it suffers a bit from being overlong, and by comparison to this year's other fashion doc, Valentino: The Last Emperor. This has a larger scope: it deals with the magazine, its editor, the shoots, and everything in between, but this leads to a lesser sense of focus and purpose.
It's still very interesting and informative, but it lacks the emotional hook.
