Review of The September Issue (2009) by Amber C — 01 May 2010
As a regular reader of "American Vogue" through most of the 1990s, I viewed editor Anna Wintour as even larger-than-life than the supermodels who used to grace its glossy pages. Wintour's icy demeanor and unrelenting drive for perfection are legendary.
While "The September Issue" never gives the viewer the full peek under Wintour's crinolines the way Isaac Mizrahi's classic "Unzipped" exposed his creative genius so masterfully, it is still a powerful film about the business of fashion publishing.
