Review of The Sentinel (2006) by Colin C — 05 Mar 2008
Unfortunately forgettable. This should have been so much better than it was. Kiefer Sutherland is on form and playing a character that suits him down to the ground (very Bauer-esque), similarly Michael Douglas and Kim Basinger slip on their roles like comfortable old shoes.
Even Eva Longoria seemed to suit her role. But the film as a whole is seriously lacking in plot. You know the ending almost immediately, you'll spot "the mole" a mile away and generally it all feels a bit mediocre.
It runs like a glorified TV movie without any style, plot or budget. This is a watchable movie, but only because of the high quality cast - the film itself will leave you feeling a little cheated. Its a real shame.
