Awful, awful. It could have been a lot better and the ending was disappointing. Bad acting, a predictable storyline about a young boy who is the only one that can save the world and a total lack of surprises. If it actually had some good actions scenes, it might have been ok but I feel the kids were cheated. Barely watchable at best, dreadfully done is a more fitting word though.
A telling point: the author of the book, Susan Cooper, did not like the film at all. Case Closed.
