I don't know why this film received such a poor rating. I thought it was great and I'm a harsh critic. Roony Mara proves once again that she is an actor to watch, while it was good to see Vanessa Redgrave.
I had a sense of deja vu that I had seen her in this role before - Atonement? Eric Bana is understated and the other performances are polished. This film shines a light on just how bigotted society - particularly in Ireland - was 50 years ago.
