Review of The Secret Scripture (2017) by Clockworkslave — 14 Jul 2016
Another movie that shows the gulf between what 'professional' critics think (or are paid to think) and what normal people enjoy.
Not fan of Bay at all, but he really surprised me here.
Not the kind of movie I thought he would tackle and I assumed his style would be too heavy handed and shallow for this type of subject matter.
He knocked it out of the park, very good movie.
I played Eve Online for a long time and was there when Sean Smith was killed, so the movie carried a bit more weight than usual, but I felt it was handled well.
True the characters we're a little 'Oorah' but It worked out well because the actors added the creditability that was needed.
Hopefully Bay can demonstrate this kind of restraint and pacing in future projects, he went up little in my estimation after this movie.
