Review of The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue (1999) by Dylan J — 13 Aug 2011
This is nothing more than a lame sequel to a great film. Not only does this film not work as a sequel since it wanders so far from its source material, but it also fails to work as a standalone film since at the same time it piggybacks the success of the original.
I honestly don't mind when sequels drift far from their material (For example: I loved Halloween III: Season Of The Witch and Exorcist II & III), but this film is just so lazy and dim-witted that it just doesn't rise to anything.
The musical numbers are awful, the animation is sub-par, the story is paper-thin along with the characters, and it's also a boring film. It's better to keep this dreadful film a secret, and only remember the original.
