Review of The Secret of NIMH (1982) by David W — 31 May 2009
Naturally, the book is better, but this childhood favorite made a lasting impression on me. Bluth's films tended to do that. Compared with the scrubbed down Disney stuff, I forget what can actually be allowed in a G film.
Intrigue, danger, even death finds its way into this film. I think that's why this film stands out from other animated films from the 80's.. not to mention Saturday morning cartoons.
