The rise to success of a country boy who moves to the city to get rich. One of those eighties films in life where the young man has it easy. In fact, while the film suggests Capraesque themes and elements, The Secret of My Success is a conventional and cliché representation of yuppie heaven.
The characteristic soundtrack and the casting of Michael J. Fox retain some kind of appeal for a film that is rather tame and uninteresting light hearted escapism.
