Review of The Secret of Kells (2009) by Nina M — 03 Oct 2010
It's easy to understand why this movie was nominated for best animated picture alongside films like "Up" and "The Frog Prince".
The art style is beautiful, capturing the essence, beauty and majesty of nature, and feels like a story book brought to life with a spirit akin to that of Hayao Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke. This is definitely no Disney movie, but there is still a charm and magic to it. Give it a chance and you won't be disappointed.
