The Secret of Kells is a beautifully hand-animated film, telling the story an Irish abbey known as Kells, surrounded by an enormous wall to protect the innocent villagers from the invading barbarians.
Brendan is a young civilian in the abbey of Kells and nephew to the Abbot Cellach. Amazed by the stories of Brother Aidan, the man who is writing a book filled with beauty and knowledge. But when Brother Aidan visits the abbey and ask for Brendan's help to complete the book, Brendan must venture out of Kells and into the surrounding forest, where he starts a friendship with Aisling. A mysterious young girl who lives within the forest.
