Skipped this film at the theatres due to poor reviews. I am just glad that I got a second chance on DVD.
The movie isn't flawless by any means, a little uneven at times and perhaps a bit more for material for Sean Penn (I mean it's Sean Penn, use him right?), but the exceptional cinematography, that wonderful touch of fantasy, a fantastic soundtrack are just some of the standouts of this charming comedy/drama.
This film and Ben Stiller in particular deserve a lot more credit than the meagre 54 metascore suggest. Definitely worth watching.
