Review of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) by Ryan J — 04 Aug 2014
Walter is a daydreamer who wishes he was a confident man who can get the girl but he is a quiet, shy guy who looks after his mum. When his job is in jeopardy he decides to make a journey to the ends of the Earth to find a photographer who has the picture for the final issue of Life Magazine.
It is a beautifully shot film, funny at times but it is overlong. Adam Scott's character is lame and just unfunny, Wiig is wasted as the love interest. As a travelogue trying to find the elusive photo it works but the other story lines don't gel with me.
It's a nice film. Enjoyable.
