Review of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) by Seth Y — 02 Feb 2015
I've heard a lot of mixed things about this film since it came out, so I went into it with zero expectations. I have to say, I don't understand some of the hate. I thought this was a fantastic watch, really impressive actually! It's easy to think of Ben Stiller for his famous comedic roles, but his acting (and directing) in this film is awesome.
It's a fun and engaging story, featuring some amazing cinematography. The whole thing was quite unique and there wasn't one point throughout this film where I felt bored. I kept waiting to see where this character would end up next and what scenario he would be in.
Some of the shots are incredible, and Stiller is complimented by solid performances from Kristen Wiig and (briefly) Sean Penn. Maybe I'm not breaking this film down as much as other people, but I enjoyed the hell out of it.
