Review of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) by Robert L — 20 Jun 2015
This little ditty isn't as unwatchable as you've heard, but that isn't saying much. Predictable and sprinkled with cameos, CGI, and bombastic pop culture sing-a-longs, it's almost as if director Ben Stiller knew the plot alone wasn't enough to carry the film.
The film's only redeeming quality is its message: get shit done. For a more engaging Secret Life--and the most watchable you'll ever see Keanu Reeves--I recommend Stiller's co-star Sean Penn's ex's The Secret Life of Pippa Lee.
The love stories in it aren't watered down for child viewers, and actually involve (gasp!) some physicality.
