Review of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) by Abhishek R — 10 Jul 2015
This was a complete surprise. Ben Stiller, who has been known to make screwball comedies like the Parents trilogy and the Night at the Museum movies comes up with, what I can say, is one of the finest movies of his career (as an actor and director). The film reaffirms the fact that probably sometimes you have to the unthinkable and push yourself beyond limits to achieve something. I would like to acknowledge the directors of cinematography and photography who made us feel like we were watching the discovery channel with the breathtaking visuals.
Ben Stiller shines as the 40 something who is low of self esteem and enrolls onto an edating site only to get to know a fellow co-worker. Kristen Wiig has proven multiple times how good a comedienne she is. This film discovers a different facet and she absolutely nails it.
Just like Walter Mitty in the movie, the movie is way way more credible than you would think.
