The Secret Life of Pets is a cute movie for kids, but lacks the more mature appeal of other animated offerings. The films premise of pets living secret lives when their owners aren't home is unoriginal but fun, and the film provides a great deal of lives.

The animation is very good and the movie is nice, but the appeal to older children and adults is not as apparent as other Illumination offerings and other offerings of the year. The kids will defiantly enjoy this film, but parts may make the adults cringe.
