Touching Brazilian story of a maid who lovingly and devotedly raises a wealthy family's son, but struggles with the guilt of having someone else raise her own daughter so she can financially provide for her family.
Issues of social class inequities as well as the inevitable emotional baggage come to the fore when her now-grown daughter shows up.
