Review of The Second Meeting (2013) by Bes — 14 May 2013
This is a heartwarming true story of two men and their families. One was an American stealth fighter pilot, the other a Serbian missileer who shot him down. Fast-forward 12yrs, and the men have an opportunity to meet.
All if that is interesting, but what happens next is the real story. The men bond over their love of family and the fact that they have each moved on from their professional military careers. Their wives bond over the shared experience of being military spouses and the fear they each endured as a result of the shoot-down event.
The families bond in small and significant ways over shared values and interests. And the viewer is privileged to glimpse the intense fears, strength, vulnerability, and joys and remarkable choices of these ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances.
It is a tale of shared humanity, hope, and peace.
