'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' is like visiting charming old friends for two hours. Not as good as the original but compared to other movies so far this year, a breath of fresh air. Everyone shines again especially Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy.
Plus you get a nice turn by Richard Gere in a sweet subplot. Dev Patel looks like he is having way more fun here than he did in the horrendous 'Chappie'. The second half drags a little but there is enough charm here to survive the slow spots.
