Review of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2015) by James O — 19 Mar 2015

Ahhmarigoldhh, This is my second favorite movie about a hotel in India where elderly people are living out the remaining years of their life. The first being...........well, do I really need to say. This film suffers from what almost all sequels suffer from. It's a sequel. Instead of adding on to the story, it's just a rehashing of the original story with a few tweaks.

I enjoyed most of the performances. Dev Patel performance felt over the top and was grating most of the movie. The all-star cast are fun to watch not just be older, but be human. Young or old, we all have to deal with heartbreak and loss. It hurts just the same, maybe more as we get older. We have a better view on what we are losing.

If you enjoyed the first and wish there was more of it, then put this movie on your to-do list and go enjoy. You won't be disappointed.
