Review of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2015) by Jesse O — 11 Aug 2015

There is absolutely nothing anchoring this tired and arthritic film. It parades it's mundane and insignificant plotlines as high drama when in reality, much like the patrons of the Marigold itself, the film had little to no pulse, and unlike the patrons of the unfortunate hotel, I found myself checking out of this one early.

The first film felt like a welcome diversion but this sequel felt like an unnecessary addition. And by the way, just because you pep up a snoozfest with vibrant music and exotics dancers, doesn't mean it has any more life; just the illusion of it.
