One of the very best Westerns, a genre I've had my fill with. Heck, it's a great movie period. Many memorable scenes and scenery - the Indian/cavalry standoff, farmhouse raid, famous final shot, and of course driven by a different, more complex John Wayne than moviegoers are used to seeing.
A long, gripping physical and psychological journey.
