Review of The Searchers (1956) by Taylor S — 13 Oct 2010
Pans of scenery second to none, and great acting leads to a fine film. The rides through Monument Valley are some of the best shots in film history. the cinematography in this film is arguably better then "Lawrence of Arabia". John Wayne also gives a strong performance as Ethan Edwards. This character is not the typical western hero. the mysterious intentions for finding debbie are really capturing.
A must see!
