If someone was to say to me "John, as a western movie fan, if you had one movie to show someone to introduce them to the genre which would you choose?" The answer is simple and it is right here.
The Searchers is a beautifully shot, wonderfully acted, and tightly directed film. This movie was two giants of the genre (Wayne, and Ford) at their respected best making what is to this day one of if the best western ever made.
Thematically speaking it was also ahead of it's time, testing people tolerance and acceptance for revenge.
