I normally am not a John Wayne fan due to the fact the character in every film seems to PLAY John Wayne rather than vice-versa. But this movie was the original film that brought racism to the big screen .
While John Wayne doesn't appologize for his predjustice of American Indians he does realize the love for family knows no color boundry in the surprising climax to the movie. If you liked American History X or Gran Torino , trust me you will love this classic more , even if westerns or John Wayne are not your style.
