Review of The Searchers (1956) by Jeff L — 09 May 2012
Beautifully set in the American West, The Searchers is a bit too moralizing when compared to the grittier spaghetti westerns conceived in the 60s, and I much prefer those. While not a bad film by any stretch of the imagination, The Searchers is a little too tame, lacking the sinister, wild west edge that Clint Eastwood and company paraded exceptionally well shortly thereafter.
