Review of The Searchers (1956) by Colin Y — 17 Oct 2013
The greatest western of all-time. The most powerful performance ever given by John Wayne. The greatest movie made by John Ford in his illustrious career. A visually stunning film in the classic Ford location Monument Valley.
But most importantly an intense study on the evil of racism. A look into what hate can do to a human being and a movie that exposes an America that wasn't really shown in cinema in the 1950's.
Influenced so many directors and future classic movies.
