John Ford's "The Searchers" is an engaging, interesting, and beautiful Western. The plot is quite simple, yet Ford manages to keep the film entertaining throughout. His direction is magnificent and the cinematography is extremely impressive for its times.
John Ford gives a fantastic performance as a Civil War veteran. This represents him at his very best. The rest of the cast including Jeffrey Hunter and Vera Miles is charming. Even if it is slightly predictable, this is still one of the best Westerns ever made; recommended for any fan of the genre.
