Review of The Sea of Trees (2016) by Rudy M — 04 Feb 2017
This is a beautiful film. Sadly, it will be lost on many people with limited experience in this life, or for that matter, exposure to other cultures via travel.
While it may at first seem to be an inconsequential story, it develops into a deeply moving journey. With an ending that surprises, and rewards, for the time invested.
It would not be hard to understand why this movie might be difficult to view. For some, the interpersonal relationship portrayed will surely touch down close to home.
(Didn't quite get the Hobbit-like home at the end. Seemed odd & out of place. Unreal. Almost fairy tale like.).
