Review of The Sea Inside (2004) by Jerome C — 30 Jan 2008
One of the most emotional experiences Iâ??ve had with a film for a long time. One of the words not thrown around in this film was â??privilegeâ??. Within the presented binary of life as a right and life is an obligation, no suggestion was made that life is a privilege.
If one can find way to enjoy it, if one can lie motionless in that bed and find reason to smile, then I personally find it horrifying that one can take their own life. Perhaps this is what makes it such a poignant and moving film.
