Review of The Scorpion King (2002) by Stephen C — 22 Jun 2009

Ok lets get the moany bits out first .

The Rock is no De Niro and the storyline here is a bit thin in places and some of the cast will annoy the piss out of you .

But overall when The Rock is kicking arse (which is rather a lot) there is plenty here to enjoy.

Chuck Russell gives us some marvellous setpieces be it a Massive sandstorm or the final battle you really cant help having some fun here.

As a spin off from the fun Mummy movies the film knows its kitch and doesnt try hard to be anything else.

Mercifully short and a whole lot of fun you could do a lot worse than this film on a rainy afternoon.
