Geez. I don't know why this film got such a bad rep unless it was because of Demi Moore. I didn't really care for the way she played her part, but the performance of Gary Oldman and the beautiful scenery of the movie will override any doubts you have about the film.
The soundtrack is beautiful as well. I great take on The Scarlet Letter. If you've ever read the book, it's boring as hell.
