Review of The Scarlet Letter (1995) by Dana W — 14 Jun 2007
This shouldn't even be considered an adaptation. Everything was different! Native Americans played NO part in the novel, yet that was a big part of the movie. It was random, and it would have been so much better if they had just left the book as it was.
There were so many scenes I was looking forward to seeing that never happened, and every important chapter in the book was cut to two minute scenes that barely captured the point of the chapter. And the acting was mediocre at best.
Pearl was cute, though.
