Review of The Sasquatch Gang (2006) by Sarah H — 10 Jun 2009
No surprise from watching this movie that the director had a hand in Napoleon Dynamite, the style is the same awkward off-beat humor but with a different group of rag tag misfits in a new version of "hicksville".
The main characters in the story are endearing (much like Napoleon, Pedro and Deb) but once again the more antagonistic characters steal the scene (and all of the best lines). I never would have pegged Justin Long in this doofy mullet-wearing role, but he plays it to great aplomb, but the real comic genius is in his sidekick "Shirts" played by Joey Kern - his straight and innocent line delivery and subtle physical humor killed me! Again, much like Napoleon Dynamite I can see movie being one that gets funnier every time you watch it (and maybe a little harder to warm up to at first for some people).
