As conventional as "The Sapphires" may be, it is one of the most entertaining films of the year. This ended up being a very over-looked film that should hopefully find a second life on DVD. "The Sapphires" also announces character actor Chris O'Dowd as a bona fide leading man.
Great film, performances, style and energy.
