Review of The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006) by Tim F — 28 Dec 2009
Standard average sequel. Good thing is most of the original casts are intact. Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell are staying in north pole and she is pregnant and going to give birth anytime soon. The dateline and pressure mounts up as usual during pre-christmas for Tim and knowing how Elizabeth is missing her folks (Ann-Margret & Alan Arkin) he decided to bring them over and make them believe they are in Canada.
Wendy Crewson, Judge Reinhold, Eric Lloyd and Liliana Mumy also visits when little Liliana wish for that. The annual meeting of the legendary character decides to take action against Jack Frost (Martin Short) for his bad deeds.
He pleads for another chance to repent by helping out around the factory but in fact he hates to be the small role in christmas. Martin then easily con the head elf Spencer Breslin into telling him how to remove Santa Clause.
He starts to sabotage things here and there and disrupts the flow in the factory. Tim then show Liliana the secret room where the snowglobes are. Martin sneak in and stole the one belong to Tim and then later cunningly have him hold the snowglobe and say he doesn't want to be Santa.
Then both were transported to 12 years ago when Tim became Santa. But this time Martin quickly don the Santa costume and is the new guy. He brings chaos to the festival by making north pole into a theme park and people pays money to get into the good list and buy presents.
The lives of everyone were screw up. Tim is a lonely workaholic. He then vows to change all this and confront Martin. Tim ask Liliana who is also there to take the snowglobe and he use the voice recording pen to record Martin speech and revenge on him.
The same process happen again and this time round Tim is back as Santa. To defrost Wendy and Judge is to defrost Martin. Tim ask Liliana to hug him and her warmth breaks the frost. Then in the midst of happy ending, Elizabeth is going to give birth for real this time.
